(ISC)2 Seminar and Networking Event

Effective Controls for Technology Risk Management Outsourcing by Andre Shori

&

Discover Hidden Threats with User Behavior Analytics by Joseph Koh

Synopsis:

1st Session: The Monetary Authority of Singapore recently updated their Guidelines on Outsourcing under the Technology Risk Management Guidelines (TRM). These Guidelines are both a cyber philosophy and a set of regulatory requirements for all financial institutions to address existing and emerging technological risks associated with Outsourcing arrangements. However, from a practical standpoint, successful implementation of these Guidelines can be a real challenge. Cybersecurity Managers must demonstrate to MAS their implementation of effective risk-based cybersecurity operations while adhering to the Spirit of TRM. Having the right Controls and knowing how to use them makes Outsourcing much easier for today's professionals intent on creating a safe, and secure Financial Technology Organization.

2nd Session: As cyber security professional, you already know that users are both an organisation greatest asset and greatest vulnerability. They can cause great damage and yet notoriously difficult to catch. Companies are confronting this with User Behaviour Analytics (UBA), which can help you to detect and respond to user threats, such as when

- an insider turns against your organisation

- attacker steals users credentials

- administrator abuses account privileges

This session will focus on how we can have a head start in detecting anomalies in our IT environment and go on to prescribe appropriate actions to contain it.
